Week 2: BE able to play the riff slowly but smoothly without stopping.
USE THE FINGER SETTING PROVIDED.
Week 3: Add the chords in your left hand. Play all three notes together in the rhythm 3:3:2
Week 4: Rehearse to play 1 verse and 1 chorus. Extension: Add lyrics and other instruments.
Week 5: Rehearse for the exam.
Week 6: Assessment.
Watch the video and complete the worksheet below. Extension. Can you work out the songs on worksheet 2? Can you play it on the keyboard with the correct fingers?
PRACTICAL WORK
1. Perform one of the following pieces on the right hand on the keyboard:
- Use correct fingers. Extend finger 5 up to A.
Extension 1 (Higher level):
Perform Ode to joy with correct fingers, note values and with both hands.
Extension task 2( Top marks for a successful performance of this piece)
2: Perform the chords and baseline of Stand by me.
- Make sure you use your whole hand when playing the bass line. Extra credit will be added for chords played in syncopated rhythms.
